We are delighted to share Kimberley Kay’s news that The Professional Ski Instructors of Canada have commissioned her to create a series of ski-themed drawings for their new eLearning programme.
Kim is of course the author and illustrator of Ski A to Z – An Illustrated Introduction to Skiing. Mark Sedgwick, the PSIC’s President, signed Kim up, after seeing the book. We aren’t at all surprised of course – Ski A to Z is chockful of not only fantastically useful information on skiing, but also Kim’s rather beautiful artwork.
Kimberley said, “I’m keen to help people have positive experiences when first embarking on skiing so this work with the PSIC feels like a great fit.”
Mark Sedgwick says, “After seeing the warmth and passion for skiing, represented so positively in Kim’s Ski A to Z book we had the idea to apply Kim’s art for this important eLearning module. We’re delighted with the outcome, love the art and Kim worked to a tight deadline to help us get the new eLearning module live ready for this exciting premier season of delivering ski instructor training as Professional Ski Instructors of Canada.
“We are at a key stage in the foundation of our organisation and communicating these core values is fundamental to our foundation of delivering best in class instructor training. We enjoyed working with Kim, she pulls on a wealth of ski experiences to represent the joy of skiing, which is what we want PSIC instructors’ clients to experience.
“Kim’s book Ski A to Z is intended to make it easier for new people, who may not know anyone involved in the sport, to try the sport. The information and illustrations can help people to know what to expect and to feel more confident to arrange a trip to try skiing. This work is important and fits with our ethos of helping more people to experience snowsports, making it more inclusive.”
