Don’t miss the latest podcast by James Dixon. James is the author of ‘World in Union: A History of the Rugby World Cup in XV Matches’ – and he chats with John Taylor! John commentated on many of the games selected for the book. This week James’ guest on the Ground Jewels podcast is the legendary John Taylor. John is a Welsh international, a two-time British and Irish Lion, and part of the the famous 1971 Lions who defeated the All Blacks where he started all four Tests. The Professional Ski Instructors of Canada commission Ski A to Z ’s Kimberley Kay
We are delighted to share Kimberley Kay’s news that The Professional Ski Instructors of Canada have commissioned her to create a series of ski-themed drawings for their new eLearning programme. Kim is of course the author and illustrator of Ski A to Z – An Illustrated Introduction to Skiing. Mark Sedgwick, the PSIC’s President, signed Kim up, after seeing the book. We aren’t at all surprised of course – Ski A to Z is chockful of not only fantastically useful information on skiing, but also Kim’s rather beautiful artwork. Read more…

James shares with us how his incredible ‘World in Union’ came about. During the first Covid lockdown in 2020 World Rugby exploited their archive and made several classic Rugby World Cup encounters available to watch in full. It was manna from heaven for the sport starved. While watching the 1987 Rugby World Cup pool game between Canada and Tonga I was struck just how much rugby had changed in the intervening thirty or so years. Read more…
